While I didn't use the worksheet that came with the webquest, I found the website links to be very helpful and comprehensive. Particularly the link for measuring biodiversity. This site contained a plethora of information.

I absolutely love webquests especially in a virtual setting. The students easily navigated through the steps and gained more knowledge to use on other activities.

Description

The Biodiversity Webquest comes with a PDF webquest with clickable links, a worksheet, and an answer key. Students will use what they learn about biological diversity to complete the worksheet. Besides sharing the webquest with students and printing the worksheets, no other prep is needed to conduct this activity in your ecology, biology, or environmental science course.

How to use this resource:

1.) Share the PDF webquest file with clickable links to student computers.

2.) Print the accompanying worksheets.

3.) That’s it! Students are ready to get started.

Students click the links embedded into stunning photographs in the webquest to find answers to questions on various web pages. (The questions follow the order of the links.) Students write their responses on the accompanying worksheet.

Students will discover the importance of biodiversity to ecosystems and explore three levels of biodiversity (genetic diversity, species diversity, and ecosystem diversity). Students will learn about ways to measure biodiversity, the impact of a single species on an ecosystem, invasive species, and extinction.
