Truckee Meadows Community College provides the opportunity for visual artists working with a diversity of socio/cultural themes, a variety of styles, and different genres, to exhibit their works in the College's Art Galleries.
The goals of the Art Galleries are to promote dialogue between artists and the public, and to provide an educational arts forum dedicated to innovative programming and artistic excellence for Washoe County and the TMCC community.
The exhibitions in the TMCC Art Galleries also serve as a great educational resource for our art history, studio art and art appreciation classes who write papers about the work, as well as reaching out to other departments utilizing visual vocabulary in their curriculum.
The Red Mountain Gallery is located on the third floor or the Red Mountain Building on TMCC's Dandini Campus, adjacent to the Admissions and Records Office. The 88 feet of wall space is illuminated by tungsten track lighting, lowered to archival museum standards. There are no UV light sources reaching the gallery walls.
The Red Mountain Gallery was the original gallery at TMCC and now focuses on the presentation of work by local and regional artists working in two-dimensional mediums. We accept group exhibitions in this gallery.
The Red Mountain Student Gallery is located on the third floor or the Red Mountain Building on TMCC's Dandini Campus. The 24 feet of wall space is illuminated by tungsten track lighting, lowered to archival museum standards. Minimal UV light sources reach the gallery walls (no direct sunlight).
The Red Mountain Student Gallery is dedicated to TMCC fine art majors and graphic communication majors who have demonstrated the ability to organize their own solo show.
The Erik Lauritzen Gallery is located on the third floor of the Red Mountain Building on TMCC's Dandini Campus, near offices in RDMT 321. The 58 feet of wall space is illuminated by tungsten track lighting, lowered to archival museum standards. There are no UV light sources reaching the gallery walls.
The Erik Lauritzen Gallery was originally an extension of TMCC's photography program. The photo labs were right next to the Gallery. The Gallery, originally called The Photo Lounge Gallery, was officially named the Erik Lauritzen Gallery in 2008. Erik Lauritzen was a faculty member at TMCC and well-respected photographer. The Erik Lauritzen Gallery's purpose is to exhibit smaller 2-dimensional works, primarily in photography, printmaking and design created by local and regional artists.

TMCC galleries staff review proposals on a quarterly basis and will respond to all submissions after each review.
